Hard work has been the prescription for the recent success of the Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Major Atom A Tigers.

The Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers battled through a tough schedule this week picking up a 4-4 tie with 2nd place St. Catharines, a 3-2 win over 4th place Grimsby and a 1-1 tie with first-place Port Colborne. First place through sixth place where Welland currently sits in the NDHL Atom Doherty division standings are only separated by six points as the final week of the regular season begins.

The Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers suffered their first home loss of the season this week, a 3-2 defeat at the hands of the league-leading Glanbrook Rangers. Mitchell Tomaino and Carter Kipp scored for Welland with Shea Linton, Luke Leblanc and Ben Fox scoring for the Rangers. Welland, sitting sixth in the standings, heads to St. Catharines on Friday night for a 7pm contest against the 4th-place Falcons then takes on 3rd place Grimsby Peach Kings on the road Sunday at 4:30pm before returning home Monday to host the 2nd place Port Colborne Sailors at 6:50pm.

Luke Breadner recorded a hat-trick as the Pelham Panthers defeated the Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers 3-1 in Atom Major action on Saturday afternoon. Carter Risto would net the lone Welland goal. It was Pelham's third straight victory and it snapped the Tigers own three game win streak. Welland hosts St. Catharines on Monday night at 6:50pm in the Welland Youth Arena.

Carter Risto and Mitchell Tomaino scored as the Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers blanked the Port Colborne Sailors 2-0 in NDHL Major Atom action with Logan Pachkowski recording the shutout. The Tigers then followed up with a 2-1 home victory over Lincoln with Simon Guglielmi and Nicolas DiPietro finding the back of the net to give Welland their third straight win and an 8-5-2 regular season record. Aaron Henry replied for Lincoln, who falls one point back of Welland in the standings. Welland travels to Pelham for a 4:20pm start on Saturday before hosting St. Catharines at home on ...
