A third period rally against last year's Niagara District Champions Grimsby Kings fell just short as the Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers opened the 2018-19 season with a 3-2 loss in Grimsby on Sunday night.
Welland returns to action tonight as they host Garden City in their home-opener.
