Saturday the Welland Midget A Tigers returned home from their weekend in Pickering to host the Stoney Creek Warriors. It would take all of 20 seconds for the Tigers to take the lead on a Chris Angelo bank shot from the corner. Luka Turkovich would rip another on the powerplay to make it 2-0 and the Tigers were on their way to an easy victory. In an impressive display, Welland would spend almost the entire game in Stoney Creek’s end. Another quick goal in the 2nd period from Angelo would set the Tigers on cruise for the rest of the game. Hayden Scott and Harrison Doan would add 2 more to make it a 5-0 final. The team would like to thank call-ups Cooper Armstrong, Jake Passmore as well as goalie Zach Perna who got the shut out. Quinn Sarginson took home POG sweater as he had a monster of a game with at least 6 shots and great defensive play. Welland will begin its long stretch on the road with two games this week. A visit to the Garden City Monday night, and then down the road on rivalry night in Pelham on Thursday.
