Tigers Clip Falcons' Wings, Take Season-Opener 4-2
The Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers kicked off their Minor Midget A
regular season with a 4-2 victory over the St. Catharines Falcons on
Wednesday night.
The Tigers found themselves trailing twice during the game when Kristian Nicholson opened the scoring for the Falcons with one minute left in the first period and then again with two minutes left in the second when Joshua Brown put St. Catharines up 2-1. Welland stormed back with three unanswered goals in the third period to clip the Falcons' wings. Daniel Legault and Gavin Boorsma each scored twice for Welland, who also received an excellent performance from Noah Belanger. Ty Stadnyk was solid in goal.
