Tigers Ace Test Against West Niagara
A four-goal third period allowed the Welland Telus Tigers to pull away to a 8-0 victory over the West Niagara Flying Aces in Wednesday night's opening game of the Niagara District Peewee Doherty Group A playoffs.
Noah Bovine and Jordan Raso, two goals each, and Ryan Reeves, Dayton Flatt, Everett Hemauer and Alexander McQuillan each scored as Welland dominated the balance of play, giving Lukas Biggar a relatively easy night at the other end of the ice and allowing him to pick up his fourth shutout in league action this season.
Jaxon Vanderlip and Flatt picked up a pair of helpers each and Hemauer, Josh Lamb, Tyler Ray and Austin Gulla were also credited with assists.
Next up for the Tigers is a road contest on Monday night in Virgil against the Niagara-on-the-Lake Wolves.
