Falcons Upset Tigers
Alexander Trivieri scored twice as the Garden City Falcons came from behind to upset the Welland Telus Tigers in Niagara District major peewee A playoff action in St. Catharines on Saturday night.
Jaxon Vanderlip staked the Tigers to a first-period lead on an assist from Ryan Reeves but the Falcons would tie the game on Trivieri's first tally just over four-and-a-half minutes into the second and win it on his second of the game with only thirty-nine seconds remaining in regulation.
Welland is now 2-1 in the round-robin with games remaining against Stoney Creek and Thorold. Garden City improves to 1-0-1 with games left to play against Thorold, West Niagara and Stoney Creek. The top two teams who emerge from the round robin will play a series to determine the Niagara District Pool A Champion after March Break.
