Tigers Extend Win Streak To Ten
The Welland 91.7 Giant FM/Country 89 Tigers defeated the Niagara Falls Flyers 4-1 in minor peewee A action on Wednesday night in Welland to extend their winning streak to ten games in league play.

Carson McComber put the home side on the scoreboard early with a goal in the opening minute on an assist from Tyler Laszlo. Colby Franchetti, on a helper from Tanner Cutler, would follow up a minute later as Welland dominated in the early stages of the game.

Lucas Joseph Panucci scored a minute-and-a-half into the second period to cut the Tigers lead to one before Cutler restored the two-goal advantage two minutes later with Jared Duerden and Laszlo collecting assists. Penalty trouble then seemed to shift momentum to the Flyers side for the remainder of the period, but the visitors were not able to capitalize on three consecutive opportunities with the extra attacker including about ninety seconds of 5-on-3 play.

Matteo Mete, assisted by Mason Risto, would close out the game's scoring with a bullet from the right wing with just over three minutes left in the third period as the Tigers improved to 18-0-2.

Although his two assists were not officially recorded on the gamesheet, Miller Miotto was awarded the coaches player of the game belt for his strong play tonight.

Welland was 0-for-1 with the man-advantage on the evening while the Flyers went 0-for-4 on the powerplay.

The Tigers travel to Fort Erie on Friday to face the Meteors at 7:30pm.
