Tigers Fit To Be Tied (For First Place)
The Welland Telus Tigers (1-0-3) wrapped up the round-robin portion of their Niagara District Major Peewee A Pool A playoffs with a 2-2 tie against Lincoln on Monday night.
Welland's third tie in four games places them in a three-way draw for first place with Garden City (2-1-1) and Glanbrook (2-1-1) as each team now has five points.
Carter Kipp and Kaleb Seguin powered the Tigers offence with Bryson Farr putting in a fantastic effort between the pipes to preserve the stalemate. Nate Murgic and Kipp collected assists on the evening, which Welland largely dominated but could not get the final bounce they needed to pull out the victory. The Tigers powerplay went 0-3 on the night despite several great chances.
Alex Marrese and Kian Bartkiw replied for the Blades, who were eliminated from Championship contention with their 1-1-2 record.
