Tigers Sink Sailors To Remain Undefeated In 17 League Games
The Welland Telus Tigers remain undefeated in seventeen league games after a 6-1 win over Port Colborne in Niagara District major Peewee A action on Monday night on the road.

Kaleb Seguin and Carter Kipp, each with two, and Quinten Hemauer, Mitchell Tomaino and Nicolas DiPietro each scored to lead Welland past the Sailors. Landen Gravelle responded with the lone Port Colborne tally.

The Tigers were coming off a successful weekend in Port Huron, MI which saw them reach the quarterfinals of the International Silver Stick Finals.  Welland scored five unanswered third period goals to upset the Springfield Rifles in their opening game, with Seguin accounting for two and singles from Tomaino, DiPietro and Hemauer. Welland then defeated Wissahickton 5-3 with DiPietro and Carter Kipp each netting a pair and Seguin rounding out the offence. Bryson Farr recorded the shutout as Welland defeated Centre Wellington 4-0 on goals from DiPietro, Preston Wainwright, Simon Guglielmi and Seguin to remain undefeated through round-robin play.

Unfortunately Welland was on the wrong side of the 7-4 result in the quarterfinals, bowing out to a strong Sault Ste. Marie MI team. Quinten Hemauer scored twice and DiPietro and Kipp once each as the Tigers fell short against the Lakers.

Welland, now 14-2-7, continues league play this week with a full slate of games;  at home on Wednesday against Glanbrook at 7:20pm, at home against Lincoln on Saturday afternoon at 3:10pm and in Fort Erie on Sunday afternoon at 1:15pm.
