That's the Trick, Tomaino and DiPietro Lead Tigers To Back-To-Back Wins
It was trick and treat for the Welland Tigers when they returned to action following their Hallowe'en break.
Mitchell Tomaino led a third period charge with a hat-trick as the Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers overcame the Thorold Blackhawks 6-5 on the road in Major Atom A action this week. Luca Giancola, Nicolas DiPietro and Carter Kipp also scored for Welland while Jack Drummond, Luca Moretta, Cooper Gaudet, Wesley Dionne and Gavin Sawatsky answered back for the Blackhawks.
DiPietro then netted a hat-trick against Fort Erie in a 4-1 victory at home. Simon Guglielmi recorded the other Welland goal while Connor White scored the lone goal for Fort Erie.
Welland (4-3-1) travels to Orillia this weekend along with four other Rose City teams to compete in the Jim Wilson Chevrolet Winter Classic.
