Ray, Raso Power Tigers To A Pair Of Wins
Submitted By Justin Disher on Sunday, February 2, 2020
The Welland Telus Tigers pulled off a pair of impressive wins on Sunday to advance to a four-point series with Stoney Creek this week to determine the Niagara District representative in the OMHA Playdowns.

Early Sunday morning the Tigers slipped past Stoney Creek 2-1 to advance to Sunday afternoon's semi-final as the top seed. Jordan Raso scored both goals with Josh Lamb getting the lone credited assist. Austin Dredge responded with the sole Warriors tally.

In the matinee semi-final, Gavin Beck stood tall recording the shutout as Welland defeated Garden City 5-0. Tyler Ray led the charge offensively with a hat-trick and Raso and Blake Turner also found the mesh. Turner also contributed three helpers, Ray two and Alexander McQuillan one.

The schedule for the Stoney Creek-Welland series has not yet been determined but must be completed by Feb 9.
