Tigers Looking For Better Outcomes On Day Two
The Welland Telus Tigers find themselves in a bit of a hole after the first day of action at the Niagara District OMHA Preliminaries.

Welland opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Niagara Falls Flyers who received goals from Jared Cappa and Liam Duffy to record the upset victory. Everett Hemauer responded with the lone Tigers tally from Austin Gulla and Noah Bovine.

The Tigers then came within 1:32 of shutting out the Garden City Falcons in game two but had to settle for a 1-1 tie. Isaac Dilts found the mesh for the Falcons with Noah Bovine scored for the Tigers. Welland could not capitalize on twelve minutes of penalties assessed to the Falcons but were tremendous in neutralizing the eight minutes that they found themselves short-handed.

Welland will look to find success against West Niagara at 10:30am and versus Glancaster at 2pm in day two action taking place in the more familiar confines of the larger Welland Main Arena. The smaller ice surface of the Welland Youth Arena certainly did not provide any home field advantage for the Tigers as they have only played on that surface one time this season, which was this past Monday.
