Tigers Beat Aces With Two Pairs
Pairs of goals from Jordan Raso and Noah Bovine helped lead the Welland Telus Tigers past the West Niagara Flying Aces 6-2 in Friday night's major peewee A league action in Welland.

The Tigers have returned to form in the new year, taking 10 of a possible 14 points since the turn of the calendar. An offence that had struggled at times mid-season has found new life thanks more consistent and quality passing and enjoying much more time in the offensive zone.

Everett Hemauer chipped in a goal and two assists and Alexander McQuillan also found the mark with a single tally to round out the scoring for the home side. Blake Turner had three helpers, Dayton Flatt two, and Max Myers, Ryan Reeves and Sean Sinclair had one each as the Tigers displayed excellent puck movement and dominated gameplay throughout the 40 minute contest.

Oliver Wall and Adam Haslam responded for West Niagara, who had won three in a row coming into Friday.

The Tigers, now 14-8-4, will face a stiff challenge on Saturday afternoon against the first-place Stoney Creek Warriors, who have taken four of five from Welland this season. However, Stoney Creek has slipped of late, winning only twice in their five games of 2020, and three of the previous meetings with the Tigers have been decided by two goals or less which means Saturday's game should be an entertaining one. Game time is set for 4:30pm at Valley Park Arena.
