Panthers Upset Tigers
The Pelham Panthers edged the Welland Telus Tigers 2-1 in major peewee A action in Pelham on Wednesday night.

Things looked good early on as Tyler Ray deposited a Ryan Reeves pass into the net only fifty seconds after puck drop to give the visitors the early lead.

Unfortunately for Welland, Pelham would persevere through the rough start and outwork the Tigers the rest of the evening outracing them to pucks and forcing the Tigers into numerous unforced errors the balance of the game. It was one of the sloppiest efforts, both defensively and offensively, that Welland has played this season and if not for the excellent goaltending of Gavin Beck this game may not have ended as close as it did.

Jonah Shapland would pull the Panthers even with a powerplay marker from Michael Motola and Gabriel Forte with 1:39 left to play in the second and Forte would score the game-winning goal with eleven minutes left to play in the game as the Panthers handed Welland only their third loss of the season.

Welland was 0-for-2 with the man-advantage while Pelham went 1-for-3 with the extra attacker.

Welland, now 7-3-1 in league play is idle until Friday November 22 when they host Niagara Falls at 7pm.
