Flying Aces Maneuver Past Tigers On Late Powerplay
Submitted By Justin Disher on Sunday, September 29, 2019
A powerplay goal in the final thirty seconds of play helped the West Niagara Flying Aces edge past the Welland Tigers in major peewee A action in Lincoln on Sunday night.

The Tigers were assessed a four-minute penalty late in the game which would have left them shorthanded until the end of regulation time and the Aces were able to make the most of the opportunity beating Welland 4-3 with 22.5 seconds remaining.

Ryan Reeves, Everett Hemauer and Josh Lamb recorded the Tigers goals in the losing effort. Steven Togmus, Adam Haslam, Nathan Poehlman and Matthew Cormier scored for West Niagara.

Welland (1-1) will look to return to the win column at home on Friday night against Stoney Creek at 7pm.
