Lukas Biggar and Gavin Beck turned aside all shots as the Welland Telus Tigers grounded the Niagara Falls Flyers with a 5-0 shutout victory to close out their pre-season schedule.
Ryan Reeves paced the Tigers to victory with two goals and Jaxon Vanderlip, Tyler Ray and Max Myers also found the twine as Welland improved to 1-0-1 in exhibition play. Noah Bovine provided two helpers and Vanderlip, Myers, Alexander McQuillan and Raphael Boucher also contributed assists.
While the Tigers were unable to capitalize in three powerplay attempts the penalty-killing units performed well neutralizing the Flyers man-advantage three times.
These same two clubs will meet again next Friday in the Tigers season-opener at 7pm in Welland.
