Minor Midget Rep, U16/18, 2016-2017 (Welland Minor Hockey)

With a win and two ties this week the Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers (11-4-7) claimed sole possession of first place in the NDHL Midget Belcot standings. As of Sunday night the Tigers lead the division with 29 points. Welland AE, Pelham and Garden City sit in a three-way tie for second place at 28 points.

Ryan Kajaste and Zyrik Bacon netted singles as the Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers salvaged a 2-2 tie with Fort Erie in Minor Midget A action this week. JJ Passero and Creighton Schreyer recorded the goals for Fort Erie. The same two teams faceoff again in Ridgeway on Wednesday before Welland plays host to Lincoln Thursday evening at 8:40pm.

The Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers were 3 for 3 in Minor Midget A action this week picking up back to back 1-0 shutouts over St. Catharines and Niagara Falls and prevailing over Glanbrook 2-1.

Easton Pummell scored twice and Ryan Kajaste once as the Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers defeated the Lincoln Blades 3-2 to snap a two-game losing streak. Eric Lowe and Andy Zambakkides replied for Lincoln who have now lost six straight.

Raymond Bendell and Sean Iftody scored as the Welland Midget AE team defeated their hometown rivals, the Welland Mike Knapp Ford Tigers 2-0 in NDHL Midget Belcot action this week. Max Brook recorded the shutout for the AE Tigers, who currently lead the division. The teams are set to play each other again on January 2nd.
