Game 10 Recap

Team Player Star Kaden Falardeau (Middle)
Smooth Moves Star Trent Brogan (Left)
Game Grinder Dylan Elsie (Right)

Pelham #2 v.s. The Black Knights the sequel. We entered the Pelham arena today for the first time hoping to continue what started at our barn yesterday. Mackenzie Covey has been playing for lack of a better term like a 'beast' lately and has taken the stance that she doesn't want anyone else playing with her puck. Mac was finally repaid for her hard work as she found the twine for her first this season. Jordan Dekoe returned to the lineup and after a little equipment trouble hit the ice ready to play and seems to have had a little of Mackenzie's mean streak rub off on her. Jordan played a great game today getting more involved in the play and even threw her weight around a little as her confidence is growing. Trent Brogan and Dylan Elsie appear to have picked up what the Coach layed down as they are working together better than ever and had numerous chances with lots of offensive zone time today. Trent was given the Smooth Moves Star for some nice passing and Dylan the Game Grinder for their TEAM work. Samuel Desormiers made some nice feeds to the slot and cut off a couple of break out attempts from the Panthers as he continues to improve. Spencer Main has proven his worth once again as he covered for our D when they pinched or rushed and backchecked when Pelham headed up ice. Speaking of backchecking...Blake Silenzi was a flash on the ice today, and made this Coach proud as he got caught deep in the Panthers end but put his head down and turned on the jets streaking back to put himself between our net and the Pelham players. Desmond Leavens worked his behind off again and managed to top his previous performance...as well as getting a breakaway that he very nearly cashed in on. Kaden Falardeau would not concede an inch of rink to our opponents again and his effort every shift is something to be admired and seems to be inspiring the rest of our forwards. Kaden was the Team Player Star today. Landon Gibbs had one of his better games this year and threw in a nice rush up ice and showed he can get back quickly when he needs to. Grant Sinclair was out to prove yesterdays rush and nice finish was no fluke and proceeded to repeat the feat with another today. Collin VanDongen was back on the point again, made some timely pinches and rushed the puck responsibly from the back. Collin's TEAM mates acknowledged his hard work when they voted he should take a penalty shot we were awarded when a Panther defender closed his hand on the puck in their crease. Connor Wright was robbed on a timely pinch to the slot and a beautiful shot that the Pelham tender managed to get a shoulder on. Connor also made some nice D to D passes that switched the rush and played a very solid all around game. Eric Edwards had his best game of the year as he took passes cleanly and turned up ice rushing the puck, getting it deep into the offensive zone. Eric also grit his teeth and got more aggressive in the corners as well as out front of our net...very nice to see. Michael Snyder was between the pipes again and shut the door to record his second shut out this year. Mike kept out on the edge of the blue paint cutting down the angles and causing the Panther forwards to send their shots high or wide with little or nothing to shoot at. This Coach thought yesterdays game was a high mark for you guys....but todays was even better. Everyone is contributing and giving 100% and the results reflect your efforts. Remember individuals can be stopped but a TEAM is a very difficult thing to shut down.
