Since the beginning of the 2019/2020 hockey season, Board Members from Welland Minor Hockey Association, Thorold Amateur Athletic Association and Pelham Minor Hockey Association have been hard at work in discussion surrounding a potential partnership of the Representative Hockey Program for all three associations.
Guided by the best practices offered by the OMHA and lessons learned from our neighbours to the west (West Niagara) it is time to gather as an association for a long awaited information session on the benefits this could offer to player registered in our associations. Board members from all three associations will be making presentations as a united group the week of February 24th. The format will be a presentation followed by a review of "frequently asked questions". The committee will open up the floor and do their best to answer any questions that members may have. Although as a committee we feel this would be beneficial for our players and associations, no decision has been made to move forward. We now seek to inform our membership followed by a vote that will be held in early March. The vote will decided as an association whether we move forward in advancing our association.
