The
Welland Niagara Street Pharmacy Tigers battled through a tough schedule
this week picking up a 4-4 tie with 2nd place St. Catharines, a 3-2 win
over 4th place Grimsby and a 1-1 tie with first-place Port Colborne.
First place through sixth place where Welland currently sits in the NDHL
Atom Doherty division standings are only separated by six points as the
final week of the regular season begins.
Carter Risto, Kaleb
Séguin, Mark Gibson and Carter Kipp each scored for the Tigers against St. Catharines. Rolland Weaving with two and Kyle Sanders and Ty Kostiniuk answered back for the Falcons.
Nolan Hemauer, Mitchell Tomaino and Nathan Murgic provided the offence against Grimsby with Lucas Barron and Jeremy Talsma responding for the Peach Kings.
Nicolas DiPietro for Welland and Nyklus Madere for Port Colborne were the only ones to beat the goaltenders in the hard-fought battle of Highway 58.
Welland closes out its regular season hosting St. Catharines at noon on Saturday and Grimsby at 6:50pm on Monday night, both in Welland's Youth Arena.
