Welland would play the Ottawa Sting in game two on Friday. It would be a frustrating night for the Tigers as they played well enough to win. It was a close game with a 3-1 final score. Ottawa would score once in the 1st and once early in the 3rd to make it 2-0. A goal by Adam Goss late in the 3rd would make it as close as it would get as Ottawa would score with a second left to make it 3-1. Welland showed great resilience as every call seemed to go against them. The Tigers would kill off 7 of 9 Ottawa power plays and was always knocking on the door. The Tigers just couldn’t beat two teams that night.
Adam Goss was tremendous on the defence and would be player of the game.
