Friday saw the Welland Midget Tigers travel to Dunnville where a display on what it takes to win took place. With a few out of the lineup, and a new system put in place; it would take some resilience and overall great team play to win. Jackson Duerden fired a shot destined for the back of the net when Noah Carl deflected it as he crashed the net. This goal would be all the Tigers would need to win the game. Some solid team defence and relentless pressure shutting down the opposing team is what will be needed later in the season; and that is what occurred Friday night. A solid night in the net for Myles Chew as he completed the 1-0 shutout. Friday’s game also shows that one doesn’t need the score sheet to have an impact on the game. Quinn Sarginson and Lucas D’Innocenzo were phenomenal on the defence.
