Tigers Come Roaring Out of the Gates
In the Welland Midget A Tigers home opener, they left with
a 5-2 victory over the Niagara Falls Flyers. After giving up an early goal, the
Tigers fought back to tie the game with a goal from Noah Carl. Shortly
thereafter, Liam Boverhof buried one on the power play to make it 2-1. Another
quick goal from Chris Angelo made it 3-1 and the Tigers were off to a fairly comfortable
win. The Flyers scored late in the 3rd period on a penalty shot.
Game standouts were Spencer Main, Lucas D’Innocenzo, Noah Carl, Max Naso, and
Harrison Doan with 2 points each. The win was capped off with a solid
performance by Ian boon in net. The Tigers next games will be on the road as
they travel to Grimsby to play the two defending OMHA Champions in A and AA in
tournament play.
