Falcons Power Past Tigers
Alexander Trivieri scored twice and Cole Crowthers, Nate Ditto and Isaac Dilts added single tallies as the Garden City Falcons soared over the Welland Telus Tigers 5-3 in major peewee A action on Friday night in Welland.

Crowthers would open the scoring on the powerplay with a minute left in the opening frame from Ditto.

Ryan Reeves would net the equalizer for the home side from Noah Bovine at even-strength only twenty seconds into the second period. Welland would then assume the lead on Jaxon Vanderlip's unassisted marker six minutes into the second but Trivieri would score his first of two with five minutes left in the middle stanza to tie things once again. Tyler Ray would convert a Tigers man-advantage into another lead just over a minute later but Ditto would beat the buzzer with one second remaining in the period, from Owen Masterson, to nullify the Tigers advantage and knot the game for the final time.

Dilts would record the game-winning goal with the benefit of the man-advantage with just under six-and-a-half minutes to play in the game and Trivieri would add his second as an insurance marker with five minutes remaining as the Falcons handed Welland their fifth loss in league play.

With Sunday night's game in Lincoln against the West Niagara Flying Aces cancelled due to inclement weather, the Tigers will not see action again until this weekend's Oshawa Hockeyfest tournament. Welland will open against the Clarington Toros at noon on Friday and follow-up with a 10:45am game on Saturday versus the West Hill Golden Hawks and a 6:15pm tilt against the Pickering Panthers. Semi-final action is scheduled for 10:45am on Sunday with the Championship game taking place at 2:30pm.
