Tigers 12-Game Win Streak Snapped In Tie With Falcons
The Welland 91.7 Giant FM/Country 89 Tigers looked nothing like their normal selves as they only salvaged a 2-2 tie with the Garden City Falcons in minor peewee A divisional play in Welland on Wednesday night.

The skating speed and quality passing this team is known for were largely absent as the Falcons came out much more determined initially and nearly handed the team its first regular-season loss. Tonight's result was in huge contrast to the teams' previous two meetings this season in which the Tigers outscored the Falcons 16 to 2, including a 6-0 shutout only three weeks ago.

Owen Crabbe would put the visitors on the scoreboard first with a goal from Colby Taylor-Moody three minutes into the contest and that narrow advantage would hold up into the third period.

Tanner Cutler would tie things for the home side on assists from Miller Miotto and Colby Franchetti as the game approached the twelve-minute mark of the third but the Falcons would then counter with a powerplay marker three-and-a-half minutes later from Zachary White that was set up by Joshua Legresley to once again assume the lead.

Franchetti and Miotto would assist on Jordan Wright's game-tying goal with five-and-a-half minutes remaining as Welland's twelve game winning streak in league play came to an end.

The Tigers were 1-for-5 with the man-advantage on the night while the Falcons went 1-for-3 with the extra attacker.

Welland, now 20-0-3 in league play, travels to Valley Park Arena next Wednesday at 6:15pm to square off against the 14-7-4 Stoney Creek Warriors, who currently share second-place with the Falcons and Dunnville Mudcats. The Warriors only have three games remaining on their schedule before the playoff weekend whereas the Tigers, Falcons and Mudcats each have five.
