Tigers Soar Over Flying Aces
The Welland 91.7 Giant FM/Country 89 Tigers took flight against the West Niagara Flying Aces on Tuesday night during minor peewee A action in Grimsby by defeating them by a score of 8-0.
It was another solid 40-minute performance that saw the Tigers improve to 12-0-2 in league play. Tanner Cutler led the charge with three on the evening, kickstarting the offense with a natural hat-trick as part of a six-goal second period explosion that also saw Julian Belcastro, Mason Risto and Miller Miotto light up the scoreboard. Tyler Laszlo and Matteo Mete would finish out the scoring with nifty third period tallies. Hudson Kipp, Colby Franchetti, and Laszlo would contribute two assists each on the night with Jared Duerden, Jordan Wright, Denton Helder, Carson McComber, and Chace Buti all chipping in single helpers. Braxton Fleguel backstopped his way to his third shutout in four starts.
Welland was 1-for-2 with the man-advantage while holding West Niagara scoreless on three opportunities and scoring once short-handed.
The Tigers return to action tomorrow night at home when they host the 9-2-3 Stoney Creek Warriors at 7:20pm.
