Tigers Defeather Falcons In Season-Opener
The Welland 91.7 Giant FM/Country 89 Tigers put in a dominating performance to win their season-opener defeating the Garden City Falcons 10-2 on the road in minor peewee A divisional play.
Julian Belcastro, Matteo Mete and Carson McComber each scored a pair of goals and Miller Miotto, Tanner Cutler, Tyler Laszlo and Colby Franchetti rounded out the offence as Welland took the first game in the Battle of Highway 406 rivalry.
McComber would assist on three others. Jared Duerden, Ashlyn Armstrong and Chace Buti would pick up two assists each and lone helpers were also credited to Franchetti and Belcastro as Welland exploded for eight goals over the final thirty minutes of play easily putting the game out of reach.
Sammy Evangelista and Colby Taylor-Moody were the only Falcons to solve Riley Caron on the evening.
The Tigers play host to the Niagara Falls Flyers on Wednesday at 7:20pm.
