TIGERS SHOW TRUE GRIT
The Welland Minor Atom “A” Shadow Auto Tigers started their OMHA quarter finals against the Southpoint Capitals this past weekend and did not disappoint.

Game 1 was on Saturday in the Youth Arena at 2:10 PM. The Tigers were down 3-1 heading into the third but scored early in the final frame to pull within 1. With the net empty and crowd on their feet, the Tigers tied it up with just over a minute left on the clock. Overtime decided nothing and Thomas Russell had to settle for the tie in net. The offence was led by Ethan Rousseau with 2G, Liam Seguin with 2A, Jordan Hotham with 1G and Ryan Rousseau and Cooper Ebert each with 1A.

Game 2 was 12:00 PM in the Youth Arena. The Tigers were behind the entire game, trailing 3-0 half way through the second period. Through sheer grit and determination the Tigers continued to fight back finally scoring their first 3 and a half minutes into the third. Kingsley Lachnit got the goal assisted by Brayden Farr and Antonio Mete. With only 4 and a half minutes remaining in the game, Blake Hudak scored to pull within 1 assisted by Hudson Bassi. Again with the net empty, the Tigers found a way to persevere. Brody Channon scored with 1:41 remaining in regulation assisted by Ethan Rousseau. Overtime was looming for a second straight game. However, the Tigers would not be denied and Liam Seguin sniped the winner early in overtime assisted by Ryan Rousseau and Ethan Rousseau. Jackson Gallagher-Temple earned the win in net.

Game 3 through 5 will be held in Leamington this Friday February 21st - Sunday February 23rd, 2020. The Tigers have captured 3 of the 6 points required to move on to the OMHA Semi-Finals. GO TIGERS!!!!
