Kings Snap Tigers Undefeated Streak, Tigers Rebound Against Milton
Carter Mantini scored twice and Tate Schilte, Noah Morreale and Luca Vallorani once each as the Grimsby Kings snapped the Welland Telus Tigers fourteen game undefeated streak during opening day action at the Pelham Regional Silver Stick Championships.
Tyler Rowland and Carter Kipp answered back for the Tigers during the 5-2 loss.
Welland would rebound against the Milton Winterhawks during their second game of the day, defeating them 2-0 on goals from Eli Moormann and Nicolas DiPietro with Brandon Alexander recording his eighth shutout of 2018.
Welland completes the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 9:45am game on Friday morning in Pelham against the Tillsonburg Tornadoes. Quarterfinals will take place Friday afternoon in either Port Colborne or Pelham.
