Tigers finish Regular Season in 1st place
The Welland Mike Knapp Ford Novice 'A' Tigers concluded their regular season this past weekend with a pair of shutout wins.

The Tigers finished their regular season with a league best record of 24-0-4 (52 points), and was the only team to not lose a game during the regular season competition.
The Tigers finished with 150 goals-for and only 19 goals-against during this stretch.

The Tigers focus their attention to what they hope can be a deep playoff run for an OMHA Title. The Tigers begin their playoffs this coming weekend, with their first game Feb 3rd.

The Tigers will open their playoffs with a tournament style format, which will span over the next 2 weekends. The Tigers will face the likes of Grimsby, Glanbrook, Garden City, Niagara Falls and Stoney Creek, all of whom competed in their league play during the season. Also added into the playoff tournament is the New Hamburg Huskies, who competed in the Tri-County League during the season, but have joined into the NDHL playoffs.

All of the teams competing from the Niagara District league have shown improvement over the season which has resulted in several close, hard fought games in the later portion of the season.  Although New Hamburg is a new, "unknown" team to this tournament, they finished with a strong 24-2-2 record in their regular season, good for first place in their league, and will no doubt add some stiff competition for the rest of the teams this coming weekend.

After the tournament round robin, the teams will be re-ranked based on their records. The top 4 teams will come out of the round robin tournament and play in a 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 series. The winners of these series will then face off in a final series, which will see the winner going to the OMHA finals against the winner of the Blue Water League.

The Tigers begin their playoffs against the Glanbrook Rangers on February 3 at 5:00pm

The coaches are very proud of the players for their hard work and accomplishments during the season. The coaches are excited to enter into the playoffs with this group of boys and hope to extend their year as long as possible with a deep payoff run.

GOOD LUCK TIGERS!!!!!!
