Tigers Advance to OMHA Semi-Finals
The Youngs Insurance Novice A Tigers are off to the OMHA Semi-Finals after completing a 3-0 series sweep of the Garden City Falcons this past weekend.
The Tigers won their Best of 5 series (first to 6 points) with three straight victories.
The Tigers won game 1 in a lop sided victory 10-0. The Tigers once again were strong defensively, and won game 2 6-0.
Game 3 was back a forth, until 4 3rd period goals by the tigers take a 8-4 lead, which stood as the final score.

In game 1, the Tigers had their most dominant performance of the playoffs and won a lop sided game 10-0. Garden City was held to minimal shots after a strong defensive effort from the defense group. The scoring was spread around among the three lines in a balanced offensive attack. Goal tending was sharp when it needed to be to preserve the shutout
In Game 2, the Tigers came out strong again, and once again had a solid defensive effort from the team, winning the game 6-0. Scoring once again was balanced and all 3 lines were firing. Goal tending was again solid and earned a second straight shutout for the team.
Game 3 was a back a forth battle with both teams trading goals early. The game was broken open in the 3rd period, when the Tigers scored 4 third period goals, two of them while being down 5 players to 3, on way to a 8-4 victory. This game was a hard fought, chippy, penalty filled affair. The Tigers played strong and battled until the very end to ensure the victory.
The Coaches are very proud of the players and how hard they worked during this series. The players played as a "team" an every player was a contributing factor in their victory.
The Tigers now face off against the Grimsby Kings in the OMHA Semi Finals.
