NOTL Christmas Classic Champions
The Young's Insurance Tigers traveled to Niagara on the Lake this past week to compete in the NOTL Christmas Classic Hockey Tournament. The Tigers went a perfect 5-0 on the tournament. The Tigers beat West Hill 8-1, Markham 19-0 and St Catharines 6-1 in the round robin. The Tigers once again faced St Catharines in the Semi-finals, beating the rival Falcons 4-0. The Tigers faced off against the NOTL Wolves in the finals and won in dramatic fashion. The Tigers tied the game 2-2 late in the third period, scoring with 4 seconds left, eventually winning the tournament in double Overtime.



The Young's Insurance Tigers traveled to Niagara on the Lake this past week to compete in the NOTL Christmas Classic Hockey Tournament.

The Tigers Finished the round robin play with a perfect 3-0 record, finishing 1st in the Division. In the first game of the tournament, the Tigers faced off against West Hill. The Tigers came out strong scoring on the first shift of the game, en route to an 8-1 victory. In the second game the Tigers dominated Markham firing 19 goals past their two goal keepers, resulting in a 19-0 win. In the 3rd round robin game the Tigers faced off against rival St Catharines Falcons. The game was close for the first half, until the Tigers broke it open, taking the win with a 6-1 victory. In the Semi Finals the Tigers once again faced off against the St Catharines Falcons. This was a chippy, hard fought battle from both teams. Once again the game was close for lengthy stretches. The Tigers managed to score 2 goals in the second and 2 goals in the third period on way to a 4-0 Final. In the Finals, the Tigers faced off against the home town Niagara-on-the-Lake Wolves. The game began with the Wolves jumping out to a 1-0 lead. The Tigers battled hard and managed to tie the game in the second period 1-1. The Wolves once again took the lead, up 2-1 in the third period. The Tigers tied the game up 2-2 in dramatic fashion with the goaltender pulled, scoring with 4 seconds left in regulation to draw even.  The Tigers eventually captured the title with a late, double overtime goal, winning the game 3-2.

The victory was a result of a great Team effort by all 17 players. The Coaches are very proud of all the hard work, dedication and effort put forth by the entire team to achieve this Championship.
