Well, it’s finally all done! We are now registered for the Innisfil March Madness Hockey Tournament on March 18-20,
2016.
The hockey arena we will be playing in, is located at 7315 Younge St., Innisfil, Ontario. We are guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 games, please feel free to go to their website at www.innisfilmoniorhockey.ca and read the rules for the tournament and any other information you need. As soon as I get the schedule I will email it out but normally we will not receive until 1-2 weeks before.
I have secured rooms at the Super 8 in Barrie which is located at 441 Bryne Dr., Barrie, Ontario. Each room has 2-queen beds and the cost will be $119.00 per night and this rate is for a minimum 2-night stay and max of 4 persons per room with each additional being charged $10.00 each. Cancellation Policy is a minimum 72 hr notice.
Hotel Information & Amenities:
- All rooms come fully-equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and 32 inch flat screen TVs
- FREE SUPERSTART HOT BREAKFAST BUFFET (eggs, sausages, Belgian Waffles and a variety of cereals, breads, muffins, fruits and juices) 7am-10am
- Coffee and Tea available in the lobby (24-7)
- Pool and Hot Tub (open until midnight)
- Fitness Centre (24-7)
- Business Centre (24-7)
You can start calling as of today January 15/16 to reserve your room and all rooms must be booked before February 18/16, after this date the rooms will all be released to the public and there is no guarantee you will be able to get the same rate or even a room at the same hotel.

Please note that we must abide by the Hotel rules which means all hockey equipment is to remain in the vehicles, quiet time begins at 10:00pm, this hotel is 100% smoke-free and anyone caught smoking in the hotel or hotel rooms will be charged a cleaning fee of $150.00 plus HST per day. Any horse play by parents or players will not be tolerated by the hotel, they will be given one warning and the second warning will result in your removal from the hotel with no refund. The cost of this tournament is $850.00 and with the sales from the raffle tickets we were given $385.00 from the Welland Minor Hockey Arena which, we are using towards the tournament. Therefore, the tournament cost was only $465.00 and we have 15 players attending. What I have done is reserved the Breakfast area at the hotel for Saturday night, I will be ordering Pizza, Fruit and Veggies for a pizza party for the team and their parents/siblings/grandparents or whomever they bring. The hotel has agreed to lend us the area as long as we make sure all is cleaned up when we are done or they will charge us a cleaning fee. At this time I have come up with a cost of $52.00 per player, this amount is for the tournament fee and pizza party. I will require this by January 27/16 at the latest as I need to reimburse Welland Minor Hockey for paying the tournament fee upfront to guarantee a spot.
