How well do you think your shot would improve if you were to take 5000 shots over a 10-week period?
Think it can’t be done, think again. Shooting one hundred pucks a day, five days a week for ten weeks will help you develop your shooting & scoring skills at home.
The Goal: Increase shot speed, quickness and accuracy The Plan: Shoot 5000 pucks in 10 weeks. That’s 100 shots a day / 5 days a week for 10 weeks!
What You Will Need:
A Hockey net, target, or even a concrete wall….anything BUT your garage door!
A “Shooter Tutor” or targets to shoot at
Pucks: Enough so that you are focusing on shooting and not picking up pucks constantly
Stick ( two inches shorter since you won’t have skates on)
Plastic shooting mat to shoot off of
Hockey Gloves
Remember the wrist shot is the most used shot at ALL levels so that should be your focus.
Practice shooting at different corners low and high. Try variations such as shooting off one foot. Try shooting from different distances.
Work on a quick release! Practice getting your shot off quickly. This will become critical as you become older.
Be patient! The improvement you make over the 10 week program will require making the time at least three times a week to practice…you WILL improve.
You can start the 5,000 Puck Challenge now. Your goal is 5,000 shots by September 13th.
HAVE FUN!!!
