For the upcoming season, the OMHA, in collaboration with the NDHL and Tri-County districts, has introduced an interlock pilot project. This means all Rep A teams from NDHL and Tri-County will play each other once - 50% of the games against Tri-County will be home and 50% will be away. The goal is to test this new format and decide if it should continue in future seasons.
A few key points for families...
- Interlock Pilot Project: NDHL and Tri-County Rep A teams will each play one another once with the remaining of the season fulfilled with NDHL opponents.
- Season Format: 24 games total (a mix of Tri-County and NDHL opponents).
- Schedule: Expected release around September 15th (subject to change).
- Playoffs: After the regular season, NDHL teams will return to NDHL playoffs, with the winner advancing to OMHAs.
- Rules: Minor rule differences are under review. New this year — the blowout rule has been eliminated for Rep teams.
- Impact: Families may notice changes in team budgets and travel expectations.
